TCEQ rejects Shankle Rd MUD

WAXAHACHIE – The Texas Commission of Environmental Quality Commissioners denied the Shankle Road Municipal Utility District in a 3 – 0 ruling at a meeting held Nov. 20.Ellis County Judge Todd Little made the announcement regarding the denial at last week’s Ellis County Commissioner’s Court meeting.

Area high school students learning about diesel equipment at TSTC

RED OAK – Robert Medina Jr., a senior at Waxahachie High School, has grown up around diesel equipment. His father is a truck driver, and Medina has often helped to fix his trucks.

RED OAK – An investigation is still underway after last week’s discovery of an infant found on a Red Oak garbage route according to the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office.On Thursday, Nov. 21, at approximately 1:45 p.m.

Ferris ISD employee fired for inappropriate student communication

FERRIS – The Ferris Independent School District was made aware of the possible inappropriate communication between an ISD employee and student last week on Nov. 20.An immediate investigation was opened and correspondence went out to Ferris ISD students’ parents confirming the report.

Waxahachie 1st Responders mourn passing of colleague

WAXHACHIE – First responders in Waxahachie are mourning the loss of one of their own, Pump Engineer/Inspector Kevin Lindsey who passed away last week. Lindsey died while off-duty leaving not only Waxahachie Fire-Rescue, but also the Waxahachie Police Department with heavy hearts.

Ovilla’s Christmas tree lighting set for Dec. 5

OVILLA – The City of Ovilla will light its Christmas tree on Thursday, Dec. 5.The Annual Christmas Tree Lighting will begin at 6 p.m. at Heritage Park, 675 W. Main Street.
