2-year narcotics investigation results released

 ELLIS COUNTY – The Ellis County Sheriff’s Department recently worked in partnership with the Drug Enforcement Administration’s High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Group, and last week released information regarding a two-and-a-half year narcotics investigation from an overdose in Ellis County.

I-45 fatality accident in Ferris shuts down highway

 FERRIS – A Southbound I-45 accident in Ferris last Thursday, Oct. 9 left one person dead and one in stable condition.The fatality accident happened in the early morning hours when reportedly the driver of a passenger vehicle fell asleep.

 ENNIS – Ennis will be replacing current Mayor Kameron Raburn soon and is currently working to determine an official date for a special election to fill his mayoral seat.Raburn announced on October 7 his candidacy for Ellis County Judge.
