RED OAK – An unnamed Red Oak resident was surprised early Saturday around 5 a.m., when he got into his vehicle in front of his home in the 200 block of Pinewood Avenue in the Coyote Ridge subdivision.

Benefactor Bea Wallace donated the books for a library fundraiser. Wallace is the widow of Ray Wallace. Together they built 6,300-acre estate includin a four-story, 23,000 sq. foot mansion. The price of the books are yet to be determined. The library is located at 301 W. 10th St and can be reached by calling 972-544-3696.

AUSTIN – State Representative John Wray (Waxahachie) filed legislation that ensures equal justice for victims of school shootings.
The bill extends a penalty of felony in the first degree to any victims of a school shooting, not just some.

Wilson has served Ellis County for more than 21 years as chief prosecutor.

Fatality on I-45 takes the life of Palmer woman

FERRIS – A fatality wreck on northbound Interstate 45 at exit 266 on the south side of Ferris took the life of 24-year-old Palmer resident Heather Hanson last week.
Hanson was pronounced dead after being airlifted to Methodist Hospital in Dallas.
