January sales tax revenue totaled $2.8 billion

AUSTIN — Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar today said state sales tax revenue totaled $2.8 billion in January, 6 percent more than in January 2018.
“The growth in sales tax collections was primarily due to continued strong spending in oil- and gas-related sectors,” Hegar said.

It may be some of the brightest minds in our youth, since students were there for a Tech Challenge known as First Robotics.

Fiery tanker crash in Hutchins shuts down Interstate 45

HUTCHINS – Interstate 45 was shut down in both directions Sunday morning in after a tanker truck crashed and caught fire.
The highway and the service road were closed in both directions, according to the Texas Department of Transportation website.

FERRIS – The Ferris Independent School District stepped up recently offering the Ferris High School as the location for a blood drive to benefit 11-month-old Jesse Hunsaker.
The little girl has already had six surgeries as well as having a kidney removed at two-months-old.
