RED OAK ISD BOND ELECTION SEEKS ONE PROP APPROVAL

RED OAK – The Nov. 8 election ballot will have the Red Oak community voting once again on a Red Oak ISD bond.The Red Oak ISD Board unanimously approved calling for the Nov. 8 Bond Election for just one item – a new, second middle school with a 1,200 student capacity.

HUTCHINS CALLS CITY HALL BOND ELECTION

HUTCHINS – The city council has called an election for Tuesday, Nov. 8 regarding a proposition to issue bonds to construct a new city hall.Because of the mayor and city council’s sound financial management, there will be no tax increase to the residents associated with the $10,775,000 bond issue.

The Ellis County Press continues as Ovilla paper of record

OVILLA – The Ovilla City Council voted to continue to retain The Ellis County Press as its paper of record at a city council meeting last week.Also on the council agenda was an ordinance to discuss amending the table of land uses to provide for a bed and breakfast facility.

“We have not dedicated the pavilion as of yet,” said Ovilla City Secretary Bobbie Jo Taylor. “We issued a proclamation at the beginning of the day to Mr. Charlie Morton a long-time resident and Grand Marshal. The pavilion cost right at $350,000.

Red Oak Hawks swat Cleburne Yellowjackets 49-3

RED OAK – After a blow out win over Waco last week, the Hawks returned home to host the Cleburne Yellowjackets.Red Oak needed only one offensive play to flex their muscle when QB Warren Roberson connected with WR Jairrus Nicholson on a deep ball down the middle for a quick Hawks touchdown.
