Red Oak Hawks swat Cleburne Yellowjackets 49-3

RED OAK – After a blow out win over Waco last week, the Hawks returned home to host the Cleburne Yellowjackets.

Red Oak needed only one offensive play to flex their muscle when QB Warren Roberson connected with WR Jairrus Nicholson on a deep ball down the middle for a quick Hawks touchdown.

The Hawks offense kept their foot on the gas the entire game – putting up 49 points, with many coming on big plays through the air and ground.

Red Oak’s defense completely shut down the Cleburne’s running game, holding the Yellowjackets to 39 total yards.

And it did the same to Cleburne’s passing game, chalking up several QB sacks and tackles behind the line of scrimmage.

With a big lead going into the 4th quarter, the Hawks coaching staff rested many of the starters, giving the backups some valuable game time.

The Hawks move to 4-1 in district play. Midlothian remains at 5-0 as they had a bye-week.

Red Oak travels back to Killeen on Thursday, Oct. 20 to take on the Killeen Kangaroos (2-3).

They return home on Friday, Oct. 28 when they host the Granbury Pirates.
