WILMER – The City of Wilmer is partnering with Praise Fellowship Church, other local faith-based organizations, and community partners in preparation for back to school this month.The city, along with nine community partners, will be hosting its Back-to-School Bash on Saturday, Aug. 12 from 9 a.m.

The Ellis County Commissioner’s Court voted in favor of issuing a county-wide burn ban at the Tuesday, July 25 commissioner’s court meeting. The ban is effective immediately, and includes all unincorporated areas of Ellis County.

ELLIS COUNTY – Ellis County continues to grow by leaps and bounds, and that growth does not seem to be ending anytime soon.Particularly not if one local real-estate company has its way building a community in the area that is the largest of its kind to date.

The Ferris ISD Building, which also currently houses Ferris City Hall, was recently renamed after James Harrison who was an important figure in the district for a number of years.
