Red Oak defeats Braswell 35-30, faces Aledo Bearcats

The Hawks only loss this year came in week 1 to the Denton Braswell Bengals, where the Hawks came in flat, had plenty of mistakes and were burned by the deep ball. Fast forward 10 weeks and the Hawks faced Denton Braswell again, but with the Area Championship on the line.

New sanitary sewer line approved

WILMER – The Wilmer city council approved a bid at last week’s city council meeting authorizing RT&E Rural Water Company the job for the construction of an 8-inch PVC sanitary sewer line on Serving Our Community Distribution Dr. and Goode Rd.

Red Oak man gets 80 years

WAXAHACHIE – On Nov. 21, after a week-long trial in the 443rd Judicial District Court, Eric Shane Harris, 36, of Red Oak, was sentenced to a total of 80 years in prison for sexual assault of a child.

More plans coming after school groundbreaking

WILMER – The city of Wilmer will have a community meeting Dec. 4 at 6 p.m. at the city’s community center located at 101 Davidson Plaza. With the elementary groundbreaking last month, next week’s meeting is a chance for the community to discuss their ideas for the new project.
