FERRIS – A Ferris police officer had pulled someone over along Interstate 45 when he heard a loud noise come from the other side of the highway.  After he finished his traffic stop, he went to investigate – and found a refrigerator in the road containing about 15 pounds of marijuana.

WILMER – The City of Wilmer recently said goodbye to former Mayor Hector Casarez.  Casarez, 57, died on Nov. 27 surrounded by family.  His obituary read he was born on Aug. 1, 1963 in Mathis, Texas and graduated from Hutchins Baptist High School.
