Wilmer library reopens

WILMER – The City of Wilmer E.M. Gilliam Memorial Public Library reopened its doors Monday morning at 10 a.m. with limited capacity.Patron hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and closed for lunch from noon to 1 p.m., and Tuesday and Thursday hours are from 1 to 5 p.m.

Hutchins city administrator resigns

HUTCHINS – City of Hutchins Mayor Mario Vasquez said he was taken by surprise last week when Hutchins City Administrator Trudy Lewis resigned.Lewis’ last day is Dec. 6. She did not respond by press time with a statement regarding her decision.

GLENN HEIGHTS – Three Glenn Heights city council seats were on the ballot in last week’s election for Places 1, 3 and 5.  All three incumbents remain in place.Two candidates vied for the Place 3 seat; incumbent Travis Bruton and challenger Juanyce Wilson.

Officials distribute hand sanitizers

WILMER – The city of Wilmer recently received several pallets of hand sanitizer from a company out of Hurst.City staff and city council members wanted to make beneficial use of the sanitizer and decided to donate some of it to local churches.
