Texas Country Reporter celebrates 25 years

WAXAHACHIE – After last year was canceled due to the pandemic, the Texas Country Reporter Festival was back and stronger than ever this year.A beautiful day this past Saturday saw attendance numbers expected to have been as high as 60,000 for the 25th year of the annual event.

Census 2020 and the redistricting of Ellis County precincts

ELLIS COUNTY – After the 2020 Census last year it was determined Ellis County had some disparity in its precincts.The census was the fuel that geared the recent redistricting statewide resulting in the redrawing of lines for districts around the state.

Go Fund Me Page set up for local women in need

FERRIS – A Go Fund Me Page was recently set up for two local Ferris women who are in need of home repair.Jackie was born in a small east Texas town located on the Louisiana border. She was the final child out of five children born to her parents, Chester and Buella.
This year’s ceremony will be held on Saturday, Nov. 13 from 10 a.m.– 12 p.m. at the Waxahachie Civic Center and is open to all members of the general public from Ellis County and beyond.

Nov. 13 Veterans Day ceremony to honor those who served

WAXAHACHIE – The Ellis County Marine Corps League Detachment 1452 has taken the reigns of the planning and execution of the Ellis County Veterans Appreciation Ceremony in an effort to keep the event alive for years to come.This year’s ceremony will be held on Saturday, Nov. 13 from 10 a.m.–12 p.m.
