CANDIDATE FORUM SET FOR JAN. 25

WAXAHACHIE – The Ellis County Republican Women Candidate Forum on Jan. 25 will not be broadcast on KBEC as previously announced. KBEC said their broadcast unit has been damaged and won’t be repaired in time for the forum.Ken Roberts will still be facilitating the event.

ROISD BOARD ELECTION IS MAY 4

RED OAK – Candidate filing and voting dates have been set for the 2024 Red Oak Independent School District’s Board of Trustee election. The Board election will be held on Saturday, May 4. The election will consist of a general election for Place 6 and Place 7 each for a three-year term.

Most of North Texas woke up to icy conditions Monday morning after sub-freezing temperatures brought light snow throughout the region overnight.Ferris Municipal Center was no exception as snow covered icy streets, forcing residents to stay home.

WAXAHACHIE – Ellis County Republican Women and KBEC will be hosting a candidate forum for candidates in the upcoming Ellis County Primary Election for local, non-federal, Republican candidates.The event will be held Thursday, Jan. 25 at the Waxahachie Civic Center, 2000 Civic Center Lane.

SPECIAL OLYMPICS REGIONAL POWER LIFTING MEET RESULTS

The Ellis County United Special Olympics Power-lifting team carried the day at the North Texas Regional Meet held on Saturday, Jan, 13, with 28 medals, three of which were overall golds.The meet was hosted by the Waxahachie Independent School District at Howard Junior High.

ELLIS COUNTY – Candidate packets are available for local general Municipal Election to be held on Saturday, May 4.Candidate applications may be completed and returned for a place on the May 4 General Municipal Election Ballot from Wednesday, Jan. 17 to Feb. 16 at 5 p.m.
