A TALE OF 2 DOGS #2: The famous “Ferris Wolf” finally caught

FERRIS – If you thought you blinked and saw a wolf the last few years in Ferris, you might be correct. In fact, there has been a wolf – or a hybrid dog – working the streets after getting away from its owner a few years ago. Ferris Mayor Pro Tem Tommy Scott verified the dog was tough too.

FERRIS – With 2020 being one of the most unprecedented years on record, the upcoming election will likely be a series of twists and turns too. One item Ferris residents will want to take note of on the ballot is a bond election being called by Ferris ISD.

ITALY – Andrea Pylant lives in Italy, Texas. Her 90-year-old mother lives with her.  This past weekend, Pylant noticed her mother was gaining fluid weight on her body.  They had an appointment scheduled for Oct. 14 with her cardiologist, but she knew her mother needed attention before that time.

Ferris honors memory of beloved police officer

FERRIS – When the Ferris Police Department moves its headquarters to the now Ferris City Hall, the building will have a new name.  Passed by the Ferris City Council on Monday, Sept.

Wilmer will celebrate National Night Out

WILMER – The City of Wilmer will be having its annual National Night Out celebration Tuesday, Oct. 6.  Wilmer Police Chief Victor Kemp said several weeks ago he felt strongly about hosting the event even with COVID-19 causing many cities to cancel.

RO Chamber hosting annual golf tournament this week

RED OAK - The Red Oak Area Chamber Classic Golf Tournament has been hosted by the Chamber of Commerce for the past 31 years. Normally the golf tournament is held in May – this year COVID-19 affected that too.

Motorcycle crash injures 1

FERRIS - On Sept. 11, at approximately 9:32 p.m., Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers were called to a one vehicle crash on FM 660 approximately 150 feet east of Newton Road in Ellis County.

Juvenile shot in Waxahachie in stable condition

WAXAHACHIE – Ellis County Patrol Deputies were called to an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on Monday at 6:42 p.m.   The juvenile, whose identity was not released, was shot in the 300 block of Chapel Hill Lane in Waxahachie. Sheriff’s Office Media Relations Sergeant Joe M.
