FERRIS – Ferris City Manager, Brooks Williams said late last week that, “People are tired of politics. They want results.” To that end, Williams has declared he just might run for governor in the years ahead.

GOVERNOR ABBOTT SETS SPECIAL ELECTION DATE FOR 6TH CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT

AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott today issued a proclamation announcing Saturday, May 1, as the special election date to fill the 6th Congressional District seat recently vacated by the late Congressman Ron Wright. Congressman Wright, 67, died Feb. 7.

WASHINGTON – Texas Republican Rep. Ron Wright has died, his congressional office announced in a statement Monday, stating he had been admitted to the hospital after contracting COVID-19. Wright passed away peacefully at the age of 67 on Feb. 7, 2021.
