SEARCH ON FOR MURDER SUSPECT

WAXHACHIE – A 29-year-old male found dead late last week in Ennis has been identified as Waxahachie resident Jordon Von Hoffman.  While the Ellis County Sheriff’s Department is not releasing the cause of death at the moment, the manner of death was noted as homicide.

Rozier named new Ellis County tax assessor/collector

WAXAHACHIE – The Ellis County Commissioner’s Court appointed Richard F. Rozier as the county’s new tax assessor.  Rozier was one of three finalists that included a current employee of the tax assessor department and a local CPA/attorney.

Candidates file for school board election

ELLIS COUNTY – It is time to gear up for another election on May 1, 2021 for not only city council seats and props, but also for open school board trustee seats.  While there are a number of cities in Ellis County as well as ISD boards, there are only four cities with school board elections in May.

2 VEHICLE CRASH LEAVES 1 DEAD

ELLIS COUNTY – On Friday, March 26 at approximately 12:05 p.m., Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers were called to a two vehicle crash on the northbound side U.S. 287 approximately one-quarter mile south of Park School House road.

RED OAK – The City of Red Oak officially held its Grand Opening of the new Baseball and Softball Complex on Saturday, March 20. The complex is located at the end of Live Oak street and behind what used to be the Red Oak Junior High just past Watkins Park.
