ELLIS COUNTY – Even though murder suspect Trenton James Adams was arrested last week for the murder of 29-year-old Waxahachie resident Jordon Von Hoffman, Joe Fitzgerald, Ellis County Sheriff’s Public Information Officer and Criminal Investigations Division Sergeant said, “We haven’t stopped working on this case, and we are leaving no stone unturned.”

Hoffman’s body was found in Ennis on the afternoon of March 24 in the 6900 block of Ensign Road.

The reporting party had told authorities it was believed there was a human body on the property.

Ellis County Sheriff’s office began looking for the 28-year-old Ellis County resident, Adams for the murder of Von Hoffman.

Through a series of investigation, the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division had developed evidence linking Adams to the murder.

Adams was already wanted on a parole violation with no bond for that charge, and now there was a recommended bond of $1,000,000 for the murder warrant.

The sheriff’s office got a break last Thursday when Adams was apprehended, according to a press release, at around 8 a.m. in an apartment complex in Houston by the Houston Police Department.

Adams was transferred to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office for arraignment. The news release stated once he was arraigned, he would be transported to the Ellis County Jail in Waxahachie “where he will be booked in for the murder of Jordan Von Hoffman.”

Fitzgerald added, “We have more witnesses to interview and evidence to process, and there will be more information to come in the near future when we are able to release.

“When Mr. Adams is arraigned he will be returned to Ellis County, and the Sheriff’s Office will let the public know when he has arrived.”

ECSO still has not released the cause of death of Hoffman, but they confirmed last week the manner of death was homicide.

As well as the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office involvement in the search, that department said thanks also goes to the United States Marshals Fugitive Task Force, Houston PD, Department of Public Safety – Texas Rangers, and the Ellis County District Attorney’s Office who were instrumental in Adam’s arrest.
