WAXAHACHIE – The Waxahachie Police Department received its fourth consecutive accreditation certification from the Texas Police Chiefs Association last week.
The certification was received by Waxahachie’s Police Chief Joe Wiser and Lieutenant Mike Lewis.

Murder charges filed against 19-year-old

RED OAK – Ellis County Sheriff Deputies responded to a shooting Sunday, April 5 at 2:33 a.m. in the 200 block of Hearne Lane in Red Oak.
According to the Sheriff’s office, the shooting involved an adult male victim who sustained a gunshot wound.

Distemper reported in Waxahachie

ELLIS COUNTY – Waxahachie Animal Services reported last week there have been reports of a high rate of wildlife – foxes and raccoons – in Waxahachie that have tested positive for distemper.
Distemper is a viral illness that affects certain wildlife species.

From April 1-30, Ennis showcases over 40 miles of mapped driving Bluebonnet Trails sponsored by the Ennis Garden Club.
