WAXAHACHIE – The Waxahachie Police Department received its fourth consecutive accreditation certification from the Texas Police Chiefs Association last week.
The certification was received by Waxahachie’s Police Chief Joe Wiser and Lieutenant Mike Lewis.
Both were presented with the award at the TPCA Annual Conference that was held in Corpus Christi.
The “Gold Standard” recognition is considered a prestigious award and verifies the Waxahachie PD continues to meet or exceed 170 Texas Law Enforcement Best Practices.
These Best Practices cover everything from use of force to evidence management.
Wiser has been the Police Chief in Waxahachie since September 2022 and at that time brought 30 years of experience serving in various divisions within the department, including Patrol, Criminal Investigations, and Communications.
“Achieving this for the fourth time in a row is a testament to the hard work and dedication of every man and woman in our department,”
City leaders acknowledged. “We are thankful for a team that remains committed to providing the highest level of professional service to the Waxahachie community.”
