His last day will be later this week.

Czech Heritage Day celebration set for Oct. 20

Handgun permits show 304% increase since 2007

According to Texas State Rifle Association, the number of concealed handgun permits has increased for the third year in a row.
The figure now stands at more than 18.66 million – a 304-percent increase since 2007.

Ferris goes dry over the weekend

FERRIS – Mayor Pro Tem and acting Mayor/City Manager Tommy Scott is asking the citizens to use water with care.
The city is also offering a $1,000 reward for the capture and prosecution of the person who opened a fire hydrant and ran the city’s water source dry over the weekend.

Wilmer passes $7.6-million budget

WILMER – The City of Wilmer passed its budget and new proposed tax rate last week. Mayor Pro Tem Candy Madrigal and council members Sergio Campos and Melissa Ramirez voted for the $6.5 million M & O budget and $1.1 million I & S budget effective October 1, 2019.
