RED OAK – At 10:59 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 2, Red Oak police were called to a home in the 200 block of Brook Court in regards to a disturbance involving a weapon between a husband and wife that just occurred.

An investigation revealed the couple were having marital issues, and the husband had changed the locks on their house, preventing the wife from gaining access to her home.

The wife called a locksmith, and when he arrived, the husband refused to let them in, and made threats while brandishing a gun.

Arriving officers repeatedly attempted to make contact with the man with no success, and subsequently obtained an arrest warrant and a search warrant for the residence.

At 1:40 p.m., Red Oak police department personnel and members of the Southern Regional Response Group Special Response Team executed the arrest and search warrant.

The husband continued to refuse to cooperate and exit the house after speaking with negotiators from SRRG SRT.

Police then introduced tear gas into the residence, and the man was taken into custody without incident.

The suspect, identified as Darrell Lancour, 58 of Red Oak, was transported to the Red Oak police department jail for arraignment, and charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
