OUT TO PASTOR: Why do I have so many toes?

I must confess that I’m not always obvious to everything that is before me. I admit I miss a lot of things set before me. I don’t do this intentionally.

ON THE JOB TRAINING (Part 13)

Now when He got into a boat, His disciples followed Him. And suddenly a great tempest arose on the sea, so that the boat was covered with the waves. But He was asleep. Then His disciples came to Him and awoke Him, saying, “Lord, save us! We are perishing!

FRONT-PORCH GOSPEL: Carrying the ‘Big D’ spirit in us all

Good week to all. Welcome to the “front porch.” This past Saturday morning as we sat in the back of the auditorium preparing to honor our friend Big D, two tall young men walked in and sat down a couple of rows in front of me.

OUT TO PASTOR: Where do wrinkles come from?

Several months ago, I had two cataracts removed from my eyes. According to the eye doctor, and doctors are never wrong, I now have 2020 vision. I’ve never had such vision since I was ten years old. All I really need now are reading glasses, and my vision is quite good.

FRONT-PORCH GOSPEL: Lickin’ that calf again!

Good week to all. Welcome to the “front porch.” About a decade ago, I heard the great motivational speaker Zig Ziglar tell a memorable story. It kind of reminded me of what my mama or Grandma would have told me as they tried to get me to grow up right.

OUT TO PASTOR: It’s my tongue and I’ll wag it if I want to

Like everybody else, I have my share of trouble. It’s not that I want to get into trouble, but trouble always seems to be somewhere near where I am at the time. Some trouble I can’t prevent. It just happens, and no matter what I do, trouble is in the room.
