FRONT-PORCH GOSPEL: Don’t lose that childlike wonder
Ellis123
Today’s front-porch visit is for all of you who feel a little stressed. Okay, I guess I can rephrase that: It’s for all of you.
You understand.
You have definitely come to the right place, though.

OUT TO PASTOR: A shortcut is not always that short
Ellis123
I take pride in coming up with a shortcut that actually saves me time.
However, not all of my shortcuts have really been that short, and I have paid the price.
Last week, for example, I had to go clear across town for my appointment with my eye doctor.

ON THE JOB TRAINING (Part 6)
Ellis123
“Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in Heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

FRONT-PORCH GOSPEL: MawMaw
Ellis123
This is her story, here in the Front-Porch Gospel.
Ninety-nine years she led a lovely, quiet example of what a good Christian woman and mother and wife looks like.

OUT TO PASTOR: What would the world be without apple fritters?

OUT TO PASTOR: That’s why doctors call us patients
Ellis123
I’ve often wondered why doctors call us patients. I have figured out that the doctors are not patient, so they expect us to be patient. I need to work on that.
I had two cataract surgeries two weeks apart. It took a whole month to go through the process.

On the job training (Part 5)
Ellis123
“And Jesus, walking by the Sea of Galilee, saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. Then He said to them, "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men." They immediately left their nets and followed Him.

FRONT-PORCH GOSPEL: The greatest motivator of modern times
Ellis123
Good week to all. Welcome to the “front porch.”
In our Bible reading for the year, some of the readers wanted to go back and go through the book of Joshua a little slower. So, we put on the brakes and are in the midst of returning to this great book.

OUT TO PASTOR: Something seems to be missing
Ellis123
Did you ever have a week when it felt like something was missing, but you didn’t quite know what it was?
I had that kind of a week this past week. It felt like something was missing, and I could not figure out what it was.
The past week was typical in many regards.
