ON THE JOB TRAINING (part 25)

“But he who received the seed on stony places, this is he who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; yet he has no root in himself, but endures only for a while. For when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles.” MATTHEW 13:20

The seed of the Word will not sprout in a hardened heart. I have seen hundreds pray a prayer and for a time seem to change, but never become rooted and grounded in God’s word and when trials come they fall away.

You can’t sow seed on concrete, but when planted in good soil with water and Son-light it can break through concrete. Planting God’s word in the heart of man takes as much preparation as planting in the earth. The soil must be broken up, watered and allowed to take root just as the heart must be convicted of sin, baptized into death and then resurrected into new life.

Salvation isn’t just an experience, it is a life long relationship with the Savior. Relationships take time to nourish and stabilize just as planting seed in the natural. In order to grow and become rooted and grounded one must develop a divine dialog with God by prayer, study, meditation and worship that will insure your spiritual growth.

“As you have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.”COLOSSIANS 2:6,7
