MIDLOTHIAN – Junior quarterback Beau Wendel accounted for188 yards and three touchdowns as Midlothian held off Kimball at MISD Multi-Purpose Stadium.Kimball scored on a 61-yard touchdown pass from Armirie Williams-Hall to Jaylen Mosley with 48 seconds remaining.

ELLIS COUNTY – A recent article in the Texas Observer stated this past summer the Texas Department of Public Safety signed a plan for over $5 million for a five-year contract for an in-depth surveillance system to disrupt possible terrorism.

Maci Barnes of Ferris wins “Fast Pitch” title

Maci Barnes, Ferris 8th grader and pitcher for the Texas Bombers Gold 14u Malpass, won the Alliance Fastpitch Championship Series (AFCS) National Championship played in Chino Hills, CAMaci started playing in 2016 for Ferris Youth Softball as a pitcher.

Chautau Quilt & Art Event set for Sept. 14

WAXAHACHIE – The Chautau Quilt & Art Waxahachie event will be Sept. 14 at the Chautauqua Auditorium at Getzendaner Park in Waxahachie. This is the first year of the event, and it is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is free to the public.
