January sales tax revenue totaled $2.8 billion

AUSTIN — Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar today said state sales tax revenue totaled $2.8 billion in January, 6 percent more than in January 2018. “The growth in sales tax collections was primarily due to continued strong spending in oil- and gas-related sectors,” Hegar said.

Courtney Kendrick of Red Oak has been named to the Fall 2018 Dean’s List for McMurry University. To be eligible for the Dean’s List, a student must have maintained at least a 3.5 grade point average while taking twelve or more credit hours.

THE FERRIS PUBLIC LIBRARY: More than books (Feb. 7, 2019)

3rd grade students from Lucy Mae McDonald Elementary visited the Ferris Public Library Jan. 31 and were treated to a story, given a tour and were told about all the programs the library holds throughout the year.

Red Oak High School hosts signing day

RED OAK – Red Oak High School and the Athletics Department are hosting a signing day Wednesday, Feb. 6. The signing day is for college-bound student-athletes, their families, coaches and college representatives.
