Anamarie Garcia, a Theology major from Waxahachie, and Anthony Gomez, a Mathematics major from Red Oak, were named to the fall 2018 Dean’s List at the University of Dallas. Claire Kroeger of Waxahachie was named to the fall 2018 Dean’s Honor Roll at Oklahoma City University.

Hello City of Ferris! My name is Tabitha Pennon, and I will be serving as your new Ferris Senior Services Director. I look forward to being a part of the City of Ferris staff, and am super excited to be working with the seniors of Ferris and surrounding areas.

The tone of our free speech

Words can heal or words can kill. Words can build up or tear down. They can make people glad or make people mad. We like to be able to use words in America and use them freely. Freedom of speech is our first amendment right. However, we could all work on the tone of our speech.

OUT TO PASTOR: Have mouth, will stutter

I pride myself with the ability to express myself with the proper wording. I enjoy words and seeing how they relate one to another. Unfortunately, it has not always the case. I have found through the years that I have developed quite the art of stuttering.

HOPE FOR TODAY: Path to eternal citizenship

I have been told in Germany, “Decker” is as common as Miller or Smith in the United States. And my mother’s maiden name is Broman, which has roots in Finland and Switzerland. I my family immigrated to the United States through Ellis Island sometime in the early 1900’s.
