First Annual All Ellis County All Star Volleyball Game lives up to the hype

MIDLOTHIAN – Witnessing this much talent in one gym just doesn’t happen very often – if at all. The first annual All Ellis County All Star Volleyball Game rosters had some of the best Ellis County High School volleyball players listed on the rosters – and it lived up to the hype.

FRISCO – After a big Bi-district 35-21 road win over the Cedar Park Timberwolves on Friday, Nov. 15, the Red Oak Hawks headed to Frisco against the favored Frisco Lone Star Rangers in the Area Round on Friday, Nov. 22.

PALMER WINS BI-DISTRICT

The Palmer Bulldogs defeated the Whitney Wildcats 41-32 in a 3A D1 Bi-District game on Thursday, Nov. 14.Palmer quarterback Eric Cisneros (3) completed 13 of 19 passes for 234 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 224 yards and one touchdown in the win.

AVALON OUT IN FIRST ROUND

The Avalon Eagles lost to the Saint Jo Panthers by a score of 92-67 in a 6-Man 1A D1 Bi-District game on Friday, Nov. 15.Avalon’s Josh Novak (above) had a big night, completing 10 of 18 for 149 yards and one touchdown, and rushing 38 times for 397 yards and eight touchdowns in the losing effort.

Highland Park builds early lead and never looks back, beats Midlothian 38-21

MIDLOTHIAN – Highland Park built a comfortable halftime lead and held off a Midlothian rally for a 38-21 victory in a showdown for the District 7-5A Division I title and top seed in the playoffs Thursday night at Midlothian ISD Multi-Purpose Stadium.

Midlothian Heritage 38, Kaufman 20

KAUFMAN – Carter Rutenbar had 306 total yards and four touchdowns to lead Midlothian Heritage over Kaufman to claim the District 6-5A Division II title.Rutenbar connected on a 42-yard pass with Freeman Robinson to put Heritage (7-3, 7-0) up 7-0 midway through the first quarter.

Waxahachie 57, Mesquite 0

MESQUITE – Waxahachie quarterback Jerry Meyer III tossed four touchdown passes en route to a romp at Hanby Stadium.Wide receiver Kohen Brown caught two of Meyer’s three first-half touchdowns to help Waxahachie (7-3, 5-2 District 11-6A) build a 28-0 advantage.
