WILMER – The 17 full-time and three part-time sworn peace officers along with six civilian employees at the Wilmer PD will officially be adding a new addition soon. At the city council meeting this week Wilmer Police Chief Victor Kemp will swear in the newest member of the patrol team.

OVILLA – Ellis County residents don’t have to go very far this summer when looking for good music and good wine. The City of Ovilla will be having a Music in the Park event on June 15 at Heritage Park starting at 7 p.m.

FERRIS – After being vacant for more than five years, the 20,000-square-foot Ferris Professional Plaza is on its way out. This past week, Horsley Specialties, Inc. begin the process of removing asbestos from the facility, which used to be a nursing home for the city of Ferris.
