COVID-19 testing brings in a crowd

WILMER – The City of Wilmer held a free COVID-19 site this week to big success. Organized by the city, at least 200 residents and area locals showed up Monday during a six-hour window at the Wilmer Community Center to be tested for the pandemic.

The Ferris Police and Fire departments responded to a vehicle that flipped on FM 660. The driver ran into a ditch, and her vehicle hit a culvert becoming airborne. The vehicle not only hit nearby trees, but also snapped a utility pole.

Ferris vehicle accident takes man’s life

FERRIS – Last Thursday, the City of Ferris reported two motor vehicle accidents in the city just an hour apart.  Ferris City Manager Brooks Williams said the Ferris Police and Fire Departments responded to both accidents. In the second accident, one individual lost his life. At 4:32 p.m.

ENNIS – Theatre Rocks! has been thrilled to re-open theatre arts in Ellis County with its world premiere of  “An Orphan’s Adventure” by H. Lee McMillion.  Directors at the theatre have been mindful of public concerns; audiences for the June 5-20 live performances have been limited.

FERRIS – Rumor was the Ferris Police Department was duplicating citations in the city’s citation system last week. As a result of this mistake, a resident was concerned warrants would be issued on citations already paid.
