Man drowns attempting to save local teenager

WAXAHACHIE – A 21-year-old man, Lincer Mejia Lopez, drowned over the weekend attempting to save a female teenager in distress, according to a Waxahachie Police Department Facebook post.The incident occurred on Saturday, Aug. 24 at approximately 12:45 p.m.
