ELLIS COUNTY – There have been a number of extreme heat days in North Central Texas.
And with that in mind, there is a county-wide burn ban now in effect for Ellis County.
The Ellis County Commissioner’s Court voted in favor of ordering the county-wide burn ban at their last commissioner’s court meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 20, due to drought conditions.
The ban is effective for at least 90 days from Aug. 20, but can be rescinded prior to the 90-day expiration if conditions improve.
The burn ban does include all unincorporated areas in Ellis County.
