The Ferris Library will be holding another two day Basic Computer Class for Beginners on Thursday, May 16 and Friday, May 17 from 10 a.m. to noon. Registration is required as we have limited seating. Aurora Ramirez will be the instructor.

GISELLE GARZA AWARDED ECHO SCHOLARSHIP

The Ellis County Hispanic Organization selected Giselle Garza as this year’s ECHO Scholarship recipient. She is the granddaughter of Nita and Frank Bustamante of Ferris.

Private Applicator Trainings scheduled at the Ellis County Extension Office

Mark Arnold, County Extension Agent Agriculture & Natural Resources, Ellis County has scheduled Private Applicator Trainings on Tuesday, May 28, Monday, June 24 and Tuesday, July 23 in the Ellis County Extension Office in the Ellis County Sub Courthouse in Waxahachie.

Ferris Lions Club awards scholarships

Karen Carreon, president of the Ferris Lions Club presented two $500 scholarship awards at the 2019 Ferris High School Senior Awards Program on May 2. Congratulations to Alysia Gonzales, who received the Tip Riley Scholarship Award and Mercedes Netro who received the Joe Chapman Scholarship Award.
