Waxahachie police recover body from lake

WAXAHACHIE – Officials with the Waxahachie Police Department identified the body of a drowning victim late last week as 30-year-old Eduardo Hernandez of Midlothian.The drowning occurred Wednesday, Oct.20 at Blue Lake, located behind Home Depot in Waxahachie.

Go Fund Me Page set up for local women in need

FERRIS – A Go Fund Me Page was recently set up for two local Ferris women who are in need of home repair.Jackie was born in a small east Texas town located on the Louisiana border. She was the final child out of five children born to her parents, Chester and Buella.
This year’s ceremony will be held on Saturday, Nov. 13 from 10 a.m.– 12 p.m. at the Waxahachie Civic Center and is open to all members of the general public from Ellis County and beyond.

WAXAHACHIE – The Ellis County Marine Corps League Detachment 1452 has taken the reigns of the planning and execution of the Ellis County Veterans Appreciation Ceremony in an effort to keep the event alive for years to come.This year’s ceremony will be held on Saturday, Nov. 13 from 10 a.m.–12 p.m.

RED OAK – Red Oak Mayor Mark Stanfill recently issued the city’s 18th Supplemental Order, released Oct.13  in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.The extension declares a state of emergency in the city of Red Oak.
