RED OAK – Red Oak Mayor Mark Stanfill recently issued the city’s 18th Supplemental Order, released Oct.13  in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The extension declares a state of emergency in the city of Red Oak.

It was originally issued on March 13 with restrictions for community gatherings and assemblies.

“In keeping with the state of emergency and orders issued by Governor [Greg] Abbott, the city of Red Oak is continuing to extend our emergency orders as well,” Stanfill said.

“Although there are no mandates or penalties included in our local orders, we acknowledge that the covid pandemic remains a threat to public health.”

Stanfill also pointed out the local orders ensure that the city remains eligible for grant and reimbursement funding opportunities. He said he hopes it serves as a reminder for the public to remain vigilant and take precautions to protect themselves.

“I would also like to encourage those who can to get vaccinated,” Stanfill said. “Although they are optional, vaccines do provide significant protection against severe illness.”

The new order is effective until Nov. 8.
