Police end up at wrong address for domestic disturbance call

RED OAK – The Red Oak Police Department opened an investigation last week when a woman at the Ovilla at Legacy Square Apartments on North Overlook Drive filed a complaint with the department after officers on a domestic dispute call went to the wrong address to investigate.

Sherman adds his name to U.S. Senate Race

DESOTO – State Representative Carl Sherman (D-109) chose his hometown of DeSoto to make the announcement Saturday afternoon that he has added his name to the Democratic list to run against Republican Ted Cruz in the U.S. Senate race in 2024.

Midlothian approves 3 homestead exemptions

MIDLOTHIAN – Over the past few months, the Midlothian City Council has approved three separate items regarding homestead exemptions for its residents.Approved on June 27, a 10% homestead exemption, which was effective Jan. 1.This will also be reflected on property tax bills this fall.

TSTC’s North Texas campus joins consortium in support of Texas’ semiconductor industry

RED OAK – Texas State Technical College’s North Texas campus has joined the North Texas Semiconductor Workforce Development Consortium, headed by the University of Texas at Dallas, after passage of the state’s CHIPS Act in June.

WILMER MAYOR FILES ON PATEL

WILMER – An affidavit in support of substitute service was filed in a court case between Sheila Petta and Heran Patel on Aug. 8, in the Court of the 14th District in Dallas County.Petta, the plaintiff in the case, is the mayor of Wilmer.The citation and petition was to be delivered to Patel.
