Verl Sinko of Ferris went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Dec. 5, 2022.Verl was born on July 2, 1940, in Millersville, Missouri, to Cecil and Mabel Sinko.He served in the Army, 82nd Airborne, had been a private pilot, and loved riding motorcycles.

Legislation filed to protect Texas National Guard from unconstitutional wars

State Rep. Bryan Slaton (R–Royse City) has again filed legislation to “protect the Texas National Guard from being deployed into active combat duty in unconstitutional wars.”House Bill 184, also known as “Defend the Guard,” would require Congress to follow Article 1, Section 8 of the U.S.

18-year-old shot during carjacking at Waxahachie Walmart

WAXAHACHIE – A carjacking at the Walmart in Waxahachie left one 18-year-old store employee with multiple gunshot wounds and two suspects at large.On Dec. 31 at approximately 10 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Walmart store in Waxahachie in response to the shooting.
