18-year-old shot during carjacking at Waxahachie Walmart

WAXAHACHIE – A carjacking at the Walmart in Waxahachie left one 18-year-old store employee with multiple gunshot wounds and two suspects at large.

On Dec. 31 at approximately 10 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Walmart store in Waxahachie in response to the shooting.

While the victim’s name has not been released, police did say he is a male and had just completed his shift and was walking to his car when the incident – an apparent failed carjacking attempt – occurred.

He is currently in stable condition and expected to make a full recovery, according to police.

Waxahachie police said the two suspects involved in the shooting both wore ski masks and were armed with handguns.

Both suspects fled the scene on foot.

This is an active investigation, and no additional details have been released.
