FERRIS STREET CLOSURES

FERRIS – Ferris has begun a large street rehabilitation program for the new fiscal year that began earlier this month. City staff estimate the project will last several months and will be done in several phases during that time.

BANS REMOVED AROUND ELLIS COUNTY

County Commissioners voted to rescind the countywide burn ban Sept. 19.This includes all unincorporated areas of Ellis County.The City of Ferris water restrictions in place based on the city’s Drought Contingency Plan has also been rescinded.

GLENN HEIGHTS VACCINE CLINIC THIS WEEKEND

GLENN HEIGHTS – The City of Glenn Heights will be hosting a low-cost animal vaccine clinic this weekend from 10 a.m. to noon at Glenn Heights City Hall, 1938 S. Hampton Road.Testing for cats and dogs depending on vaccines and testing needed start as low as $5 and no more than $10.

NORTHBOUND I-35E RAMP TO EASTBOUND I-20 CLOSES DEC. 5 IN DALLAS

DALLAS – Weather permitting, the northbound Interstate 35E (I-35E) direct connector ramp to eastbound Interstate 20 (I-20) will be closed from 12:01 a.m. Monday, December 5 through Sunday, December 11 as part of an ongoing bridge improvement project.

MAN SHOT IN ARM DURING DISPUTE IN ENNIS – SUSPECT IN CUSTODY

ENNIS – A 32-year-old male was shot Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 11, in the 1900 block of N. Kaufman Street.The victim was transported to a Dallas area hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.The suspect was taken into custody without incident and is awaiting arraignment.
