RED OAK – A woman was arrested on Wednesday, Dec. 6 in the killing of an acquaintance days earlier in the Red Oak area of Ellis County, according to the county sheriff’s office.Deputies responded about 10 a.m.

Red Oak man sentenced to 99 years for 7th DWI

WAXAHACHIE – Virgil Bryant III, 47, of Red Oak, was convicted by a jury of driving while intoxicated third or more and was sentenced to 99 years in prison, according Ann Montgomery, Ellis County and District Attorney.
U.S. Army veterans, Jerry Cossette (l) and Don Merchant (m) presented U.S. Air Force veteran Michael Seiber with the Vietnam Veteran Lapel Pin. WAXAHACHIE – Chad Gillen, 37, of Waxahachie, Texas, was convicted of murder by a jury and sentenced to 70 years in prison, according to Ann Montgomery, Ellis County and District Attorney.In 2010, Karen Gillen suffered a stroke, which left her disabled.
