Unofficial results in District Judge 443rd runoff this week

ELLIS COUNTY – In unofficial results for the District Judge 443rd seat Grace Pandithurai is the victor in the runoff election from May 28.Pandithurai faced opponent Greg Wilhelm in the runoff election and beat her opponent with 3,521 votes or 63.13% to Wilhelm’s 2,056 votes or 36.87% of the vote.

OVILLA – A donated piece of WWII military equipment from the Army Donations Program Office was installed earlier this month on a concrete pad at Heritage Park.The donated piece, a M3 37 mm anti-tank gun, was installed next to the city’s Veteran’s Memorial.

Aiden Hunter recognized for outstanding achievement

ENNIS – VFW Post 7106 announced Ferris senior Aiden Hunter has been recognized for his outstanding achievement in the Voice of Democracy program.Presented with the Voice of Democracy Award by Post Commander Boyd Smith and Post Adjutant Gilbert Wulff, Aiden received a monetary award of $500.
