AUSTIN — Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar today said state sales tax revenue totaled $2.8 billion in January, 6 percent more than in January 2018. “The growth in sales tax collections was primarily due to continued strong spending in oil- and gas-related sectors,” Hegar said.

Ferris High School hosts First Tech Challenge

FERRIS – About 150 students converged on the Ferris High School this past weekend ranging in ages from Middle School to High School grades 6 to 12. It may be some of the brightest minds in our youth, since students were there for a Tech Challenge known as First Robotics.

Fiery tanker crash in Hutchins shuts down Interstate 45

HUTCHINS – Interstate 45 was shut down in both directions Sunday morning in after a tanker truck crashed and caught fire. The highway and the service road were closed in both directions, according to the Texas Department of Transportation website.
