RO man given 25-year sentence

WAXAHACHIE – Ellis County and District Attorney Ann Montgomery announced Stoney Jewell Ellis, 44, of Red Oak, was sentenced to 25 years in prison for leaving the scene of an accident that resulted in the death of another person.

Midlothian murder/suicide leaves unanswered questions

MIDLOTHIAN – A double murder-suicide in Midlothian last week left more questions than answers when 43-year-old Edsel Collazo apparently killed one man and one woman in an apartment in the 2900 block of Lakeside Drive.

Ennis installs 1st underground refuse system in Texas

ENNIS – The City of Ennis recently installed the first underground refuse system in Texas.The City of Ennis, along with Underground Refuse Systems, will be hosting a ribbon cutting on Jan. 24 at 2 p.m. at the Ennis Welcome Center, 201 NW Main St. in downtown.
