American Humane Society rescues 75 dogs, puppies from squalor just outside Ferris

ELLIS COUNTY – The American Humane Society Rescue team is working to save over 75 dogs and puppies living in squalor. The animals were rescued in late April from various properties in South Dallas County just outside the city limits of Ferris.

A dedication ceremony is planned for Saturday, May 9 at 2 p.m. and reception will be held at the Sokol Activity Center, 2622 East Highway 34, Ennis. Submitted photo.

WAXAHACHIE – It took 24 years, but last week Frisco police, with the assistance of Waxahachie police, arrested Lisa Honrud at her home in Waxahachie for a murder committed in 2002. Honrud was charged with her husband’s murder after the case had gone cold for decades, police reported.
