Red Oak’s growth offers good and bad

RED OAK – A city’s progress is often marked in unsavory factors that are as hard to avoid as its successes. The robbery that occurred in Red Oak in the 100 block of S. Summit Street a few weeks ago is still under investigation, according to Lieutenant Marc Schroeder, Red Oak Police Department.

Car stolen in aggravated robbery identified

RED OAK – Red Oak Police have located the 2016 Red Nissan Sentra that was stolen on Dec. 3 in the 100 block of S. Summit Street. The vehicle was recovered unoccupied by the Dallas Police Department on Dec. 7 in the 4300 block of Bailey in South Dallas.

FERRIS – Cold, rainy weather forced the cancellation Saturday of the annual Christmas on the Square, as well as several other city’s Christmas events.

9-year-old double homicide case in Ferris moving forward

FERRIS – The Ferris Police Department may soon be able to report only two cold cases instead of three in that city. A double homicide committed in January, 2010 will likely be referred by police to the Ellis County and District Attorney’s Office, along with a request for a Grand Jury Referral.
