FERRIS – New Ferris City Manager Brooks Williams took the reins at his first official council meeting, and presented six new employment positions to the city council at Monday night’s council meeting.

OVILLA – The Ovilla city council voted in the October city council meeting in a 3 – 0 vote to move roughly $100,000 from the water budget to fund the sanitary sewer bid for service to Founders Park, city hall and the fire and police stations.

RED OAK – A missing 76-year-old Red Oak man was found safely by Walker County Public Safety. Lloyd Dubose, who had last been seen Monday, Oct. 28 at around 9:30 a.m., took medication for dementia and diabetes.

WILMER – The city of Wilmer’s Pioneer Days marked its 35th year of celebration last weekend. The festivities began on Friday, Oct. 25 with a hometown parade and culminated on Sunday with a musical line-up that began at noon.
