A member of the Hector P. Garcia Middle School athletics staff engaged in a year’s long, sexual relationship with a student she met through the women’s basketball team she coached, court documents show.

ENNIS WOMAN DROWNS IN LIONS PARK

ENNIS - A 33-year-old Ennis woman drowned Sunday night at Lions Park on Lampasas Street in Ennis.When Ennis officers arrived at the park they retrieved the woman from the water, administering life saving measures unsuccessfully.

Sheriff has an ‘eye in the sky’

WAXAHACHIE – Ellis County Sheriff Brad Norman recently announced the formation of the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office Unmanned Aerial System Response Team.This newly integrated team consists of seven members from the ECSO Patrol and Criminal Investigations Divisions.

Ferris opposes formation of Municipal Utility Districts

FERRIS – During Monday’s Ferris City Council meeting, a resolution was passed opposing the formation by any developer of municipal utility districts, within the city limits, extraterritorial jurisdiction, and points beyond.

ITALY – Additional charges were filed late last week in the murder investigation against the mother who stabbed her children in Italy, Texas.Shamaiya Deyonshana Hall was charged with two first degree felony charges of aggravated assault/deadly weapon/family violence on March 8.
