Bull kills 68-year-old Ferris man

FERRIS – The Ellis County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a death that happened Monday around 2 p.m. in the 200 block of James Road in Ferris. A 911 call came in from a man who said a bull had possibly killed his son.

ENNIS PD WARNS RESIDENTS OF CAR BURGLARIES

ENNIS – The Ennis Police Department is warning residents burglary of motor vehicle crimes are on the rise.There is a team of at least five individuals, working together and targeting the northwest part of Ennis. The hours most of the crimes have been committed appear to be from midnight to 4 a.m.

Red Oak FFA hosts car show

RED OAK – On Saturday April 22, the Red Oak High School FFA Club held a fund-raising car show at the Red Oak Middle School parking lot.The club was expecting 30-40 cars to register, but when registration ended around 10 a.m. Saturday morning, the club had registered more than 70 cars and trucks.

ELLIS COUNTY – Ellis County recently hired a new Emergency Management Coordinator whose first day on the job was last Monday.A Dallas native, Michaela Sandefer’s most recent appointment was serving as the Assistant Emergency Management Coordinator for the City of Grand Prairie.

Wilmer PWD recognized in commissioners court

WILMER – Public Works Director Wayne McCurley was recognized last month at the Dallas County Commissioners Court by Commissioner John Wiley Price for his outstanding service working alongside others in the area on the Dallas County Inland Port.
