FERRIS – The Ellis County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a death that happened Monday around 2 p.m. in the 200 block of James Road in Ferris. 

A 911 call came in from a man who said a bull had possibly killed his son. 

Deputies from the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office along with CareFlite Ambulance Service personnel responded to the scene. 

When deputies arrived, they found an angus bull destroying property. The bull also prevented first responders from administering help to the caller’s son.

The bull had to be euthanized due to its behavior. 

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:07 p.m.

The man has been tentatively identified as 68-year-old Stanley Wright Jr., of Ferris. The circumstances around what happened are still under investigation.
