LOCAL STUDENT UPDATE: April 25, 2019

Ashley Hall of Midlothian, and Brandi Domkowski of Oak Leaf were initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society. Ruth Herman of Waxahachie was inducted into East Central University’s Alpha Chi National Honor Society.

FERRIS PUBLIC LIBRARY: More than books (April 25, 2019)

The Ferris Library will be holding an Excel Class for Beginners on Friday, April 26, from 10 a.m. to Noon. Registration is required as we have limited seating. Aurora Ramirez will be the instructor. Aurora does an excellent job of communicating and clarifying the basics of Microsoft Excel.

Wilmer warehouse deal to lease 1-million sq. ft.

WILMER – A huge industrial deal in southern Dallas County has taken a big block of new North Texas warehouse space off the market, according to a report in The Dallas Morning News. Chicago-based Logistics Property Co.

POLICE INVESTIGATING WALMART SHOOTING

RED OAK – Red Oak police responded to a shooting Monday evening at the Wal-Mart parking lot in the 100 block of Ryan Drive where they found a victim who had been shot.

Dispatchers are COOL!

FERRIS – “Dispatchers are COOL,” is a brief statement from Ferris Police Chief Eddie Salazar, and he couldn’t be more correct in his summation. The City of Ferris employs four full-time dispatchers and two part-time. Last week, April 14 to 20 was National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week.
