RED OAK ARRESTS: April 29 – May 5

Byrd, Kasondra, 28, fail to identify fugitive intent give false info, child safety seat under 8, leaving a child in a vehicle alias, fail to display DL alias, failure to appear, ran stop sign. King, Donald, 29, assault causes bodily injury.

WILMER ARRESTS: April 29 – May 5

Duncan, Matthew, 26, warrant arrest local. Contreras, German, 30, assault family/household member previous conviction, warrant arrest local. Hernandez, Luis, 41, DWI 3rd or more.

FERRIS PUBLIC LIBRARY: More than books (May 9, 2019)

The Ferris Library will be holding another two day Basic Computer Class for Beginners on Thursday, May 16 and Friday, May 17 from 10 a.m. to noon. Registration is required as we have limited seating. Aurora Ramirez will be the instructor.

May 4 elections see changing of the guard

ELLIS COUNTY – The winds of political changed swept across Ellis County Saturday as 108,324 registered voters took to the polls. This past weekend’s election saw only 14,164 voters turn out or 13.08-percent.

FERRIS – At the Monday, May 6 Ferris City Council meeting, Ferris Police Chief Eddie Salazar presented a life-saving award to Ferris Officer Christian Cortez for his quick response and thinking when Cortez responded to a call for assistance from an Ellis County Constable.
